In our introductory newsletter, we talked about the huge number of tasks on our "to do" list. While we've been busy doing related organizing "stuff", we haven't really made much progress toward marking things off the list as completed.
The first item on the list:
Get the word out. Here are the actions taken toward this To-do item over the past two weeks:
- Numerous facebook posts have been created onto five conservative group pages -
Buncombe County Republican Discussion North Carolina Conservatives NC 11th Conservatives UnCensored Patriot Network NC, USA
Buncombe County 2nd Amendment sanctuaryWhile we've experienced
some engagement from our posts, we have not been successful in driving hordes of people to the website or in attracting any DMs. Yet.
- Similarly, we have created posts on CloutHub, Gab and Parler. As with Facebook, these posts have not driven any traffic to us either
- We also started running google ads on February 21. Through March 4, our ads have had 167 views, but only one click-thru to the website and no conversions (newsletter signups). To be fair, there is a learning curve associated with our efforts to setup the google ad campaigns, and maybe we can milk some results from this pathway if we spend more time becoming familiar with the tool and tweaking it.
- We acquired a free, limited function version of "Constant Contact" Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. This tool almost immediately sends an acknowledgement to email addresses that signup on our website. Two days later, it sends a follow-up email inviting these subscribers to become a volunteer. A few days after that, it sends a third email inviting subscribers to our TAKE ACTION web page.
This software is not yet configured tightly enough with the website to tell us how people respond to our reaching out. So we don't know if people used the TAKE ACTION! buttons. We do know, however, that no volunteers have yet stepped forward to offer their services.
Getting the word out remains a top priority for First Tuesday. So, we will continue to focus attention on improving our reach. We may be fighting a long-standing reluctance on the part of conservatives to organize at a grass roots level. Conservatives are mostly polite and don't really like to make waves.
However, it is time to make some noise. Lots of noise. LOUD noise. As the current administration continues to push its socialist agenda, conservatives may start to wake-up and become willing to start creeping out of our comfort zones.
